What to wear and what to bring?

For training please wear track suit bottoms and a T-shirt. We do not train barefoot, so please bring clean trainers, suitable for indoor use. You might need a small towel to wipe the sweat off at times and some water to rehydrate. At longer seminars, you should also bring small snacks e.g. bananas, energy bars etc.

Injuries

If you have any injuries, please let the instructor know and make sure you do not aggravate them in training.

Equipment Required for Sessions

Please ensure that you have the following safety equipment for all sessions:

  • Groin Guard (1)

  • Mitts (open finger type so your hands are not limited)

  • Shin Protectors

  • Mouthguard

  • Forearm protectors (optional)

(1) A groin guard must be worn at your first lesson (for males only - we'll explain later). It costs £8 and can be bought at your first class.

We carry a stock of these items at the club, so please let the instructor know what you need. Alternatively we recommend Blitzsport.

Safeguarding Policy

Our Safeguarding Policy demonstrates that we believe the welfare of children and vulnerable adults is paramount in everything we do.

Read the policy

Class rules as a result of Covid-19

Please do not attend training if:

  • You have been told to shield or self-isolate by the government.

  • You have symptoms of COVID-19.

  • You live with or have had contact with anyone who has had symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

  • You have not pre-booked your place. If you have not booked there is unlikely to be a place for you.

When at the club:

  • Please enter via reception and leave via the fire exits (one way system)

  • Changing rooms and toilets will not be available.

  • Please wear a face mask. This applies to instructors too.

  • Please use hand-sanitiser (available at reception) when entering the building.

  • Please maintain at least a 1 metre gap (assuming you are wearing a mask) between yourself and anyone else. There will be floor markings in the hall to help with this.

  • For improved air-circulation the fire exit doors will remain open during the session. Please do not close them.

  • If you are training with someone with whom you cohabit you can partner up. If you use a strike shield (or other equipment we provide) please keep it for the duration of the session and do not switch with others. We will sanitise all items before and after sessions.
